You are the one definitely getting way off base. Grocery stores are liable for shopping cart damage, for sure, without a doubt. Yes you can sue the state for damage done if they knew about it beforehand and did nothing but there is no warranty for the street a person drives on. If I was such a jerk as you are portraying me as such, then I guess I should sue my best friend for the damage that happened to my car at his restaurant parking lot? I don't think so, I value his friendship way more. BTW, your argument about comparing this to fast food joints is quite weak and irrelevant. The poor guy has had his car keyed twice at the same place. The security guys didn't even care. In the end it was just a mere suggestion.
