Some guy auctioned off his pristine Amphicar for well over 100K. Which at the time was 3 times the class 1 book value for these cars.
This year some woman supposedly paid over 80K for another Amphicar. If this was indeed an actual sale (and not a "staged" event), she probably thought she got a bargain.
This sort of scam is so much cheaper to do on EBAY, and still reach 1000's of
potential buyers, that it's becoming even more and more common.
Karl, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it wouldn't work for us too.
It's probably only a matter of time before somebody tries it.
