Congratulations Blackbelt,
I bought the twin of your new ride in Madison, WI about a month ago. Although I have been trying to keep it out of the nasty wx, I have still managed to put 2k on it in that time. Wow, do I love that car. It is so nice to be back in a real two seater. About a week before my first son was born back in 1981, I recall seeing several packages of Pampers jammed up against the rear window of my Jaguar Series 1 E-type coupe. It was an ominously negative sight. With the new baby, I knew the FHC would not be seeing much action. Soon after driving my wife and son home from the hospital in Watford, north of London, the Jag was shipped back home and sent into storage while I went to sea duty and another overseas tour. (Wouldn't you know after riding home from the hospital in an E-Type, my son became an automotive designer. How's that for early life influences?) Some bad luck while in storage dictated some serious (read expensive) repairs before I can put it back in service. So it now sits dismantled in the three car garage I built to shelter it. My wife and I promised ourselves a new sports car when our second son graduated from college. Unfortunately, our old sedan was giving signs of giving up the ghost. So the sports car came early.
Damn, the bad luck!
Yes, I does handle better than the E-type, but they are both a blast to drive.
