Yes, BUT some are centrifugal, same basic design as a turbo but belt driven and some are positive displacement like ours also belted. The slangs/names for our style are Roots,Whipple,twin screw etc. PD units normally come in sooner/lower RPM's and give good street TQ, more area under the curve on a dyno. Centrifugal units have to be spun up a little and come in @ a higher RPM and give good peak numbers. Turbos are exhaust driven and electrics are mostly a joke IMHO.
