+Fireamx,
I've got something that I bet you'd like to see. I've got some models from back then of a 68' Javelin, and the 72' AMX. These were the ones that the dealers got, why, I don't remember.. maybe to display to show the new models coming or something. Anyhow, I ended up with them and I also have one of the Chyrsler turbine cars. They only made 4 real ones, and they had one in Atl to run around the speedway for the dealers to have a chance to look it over. My Dad was running a Dodge/chrysler dealer then and of course anything to do with racing or the speedway, he was always involved. He actually drove one of those turbines around the track. They wouldn't let him go more than 75, but I remember him telling me that it was very smooth and quiet but not very quick or fast. Interesting car!
I also got to meet Craig Breedlove at the AMC dealer. He was the world record holder at the time for the land speed record. He was racing for AMC, but I don't recall in what capacity. His wife Linda was the woman's holder for the same record, but much slower. I think he was driving Trans am for them because they had a Trans am racer on display. I had pictures of it, signed by Craig and his wife, but I left them by mistake with my previous and I'm sure once she found them, in the trash they went. It was a real loss because I had lots of autographs from back then.
I'll have to find those models and get you some pics. I also have a mid 60's Rambler convertible.
