120 lbs of down force at 100 mph. The effective speed can be gauged by the function of the wing on the limited edition which deploys at 60-65 mph. The engineers put it there for a reason, probably based on wind tunnel tests at european driving speeds 75+ mph.

I think you'll be fine removing the wing if you keep the car under 85 and don't have a semi truck anywhere near you when you're driving at higher speeds. If you plan on driving long distances at 85mph, all you have to do is put your wife in the trunk.
