After driving it for a couple miles pulled it back into the garage and still has a loud tick. The car has been stored for two winters and only has 900 miles on it. Do you think it will go away after I drive it for a few miles or is there something I can do to get rid of the noise. It scares me at the thought of to taking the car in for service. I read a lot of members saying they don't know how to work on it and the thought of scratches, we won't even go there. Any suggestions?
Frank, during storage, do you use STA-BIL or another fuel stabilizer?
If not, that could be your problem. Either way, you may want to put some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and let it run for a good while. If the ticking is still there - I fear it is off to the service department.
Good luck.
