I went through the motions of buying this through Crutchfield but I'm concerned about the notices that are mentioned about front speaker wires need to be rerun, rear speakers wires need to be rerun. That's a lot of rewiring required. And it also mentions that I have to bypass the factory amp! What's up with that?

They told me the exact same thing. I ignored it and it works fine. Didn't need to re-wire or bypass anything. Many others have done the same.
