Uncle_Al, I can see where you might feel the way that you do. How someone can own a great looking car like the Crossfire, then turn around and dump it for what is essentially a "Box" does seem hard to understand. But remember, Aero Blue does have a family that needs to be hauled around, and he does live in Michigan, where the winter can make a light weight, RWD car like the Crossfire less desirable to own and operate.
The Mini CooperS offers nearly identical handling, and is only a second slower in the 1/4 mile. Plus it has alot of mods that are easy to come buy. Besides, even though it is a box, it's still kind of neat looking too. I know I still look at practically everyone I see, even though they've been around for quite some time now.
I purchased a 1984 Corvette brand new, and kept it less that 6 mos, only to replace it with a new 1984 Honda CRX that I wound up keeping for 4 years. And the only reason I got rid of it when I did, was because I needed a back seat to haul my Daughter around in. The guys I worked with at the time never could figure out how I could go from the Vette, to a Honda, and be as satisfied as I was with it.
