I know how you feel. I just had a service done and I told the service manager I dealt with that I put a lot of time in to keeping my car ding, scratch and dent free. I also showed him my engine cover which I spent a lot of time on. I
think he got the picture. I also do a walk around when I get the car back with the service writer. They can laugh at me all they want, I want my car to stay nice, I plan on keeping it for a long time. By the way the woman in front of me who dropped her brand new Jeep off for service literally smashed her driver' door into a railing in the service lane, I cringed, she didn't bat an eye. I think its important to show them you do care about your car.
The fan recall for me was no big deal, they did a great job of not screwing things up, at least for me. Good luck.
