Thumbs up Re: Got a problem!!

Well, here's the follow-up. INTERCOOLER AUXILIARY WATER PUMP.

Problem solved...I pulled the inner fender well this morning and tested the pump. It was replaced and was new. I jumped it and it was silent and ran very smooth. I reinstalled the connection with di-electric grease and took it out for a run. 10 miles into it and...it crapped out!

The pump has access through a little door in the fender well and you can easily stick your hand in and feel the pump. After 20 or so miles the pump was NOT warm, was NOT running and the hoses were cold. NOT GOOD. I had verified that the pump was good so what was up.

I had assumed the pump was thermally protected internally. NOT the case. It is fused, and the fuse was blown. It is position #12 in the fuse box.

I talked to the technician that worked on the issue at the dealership and he said that he had been off the day the pump came in and another tech had installed the pump. The old pump was a fuse blower and the tech simply installed the new unit and didn't check the fuse before signing off on the job.

Bottom line, If your SRT-6 runs like ****, check the pump. Open the access door on the fender panel and FEEL IT and LISTEN TO IT. After that check for a blown fuse. After that all that is left is the IAT sensor.

Hope this help the next guy that has the Aux. Pmp issue.

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP I GOT HERE!!!

Paul...
