I took all the letters off except the "s" in the center. Used fishing line. Very easy to take the letters off; very difficult to remove all the glue. Even once I had the glue off you could see, at certain angles, a ghosted image. A lot of elbow grease removed that.
use "goof off" for the remaining adhesive (let the product do the work).....then a non abrasive polish to luster like new
