Default Re: removing the WING

The wing is there for a reason, and as most here have indicated it is not merely cosmetic. Regardless of the down force numbers, removing it will induce some issues while driving at speeds above 60 mph.

Audi ran into the same issue with the introduction of the TT and VW the Beatle where at high speed the rear end would lift, and in some cases was the identified reason for several accidents forcing them to alter the design with a wing in year two.

Considering that the chassis limitation is 186 mph I am sure the wing becomes more important as you reach the right half of the speedo, so don't feel bad if we don't ask for any one here to be an experimental crash test dummy.
