I don't feel that the radio feels cheap - you should really check it out yourself. If you read the Crutchfield ads carefully, there are specs, and reader reviews for both, as well as owners manuals for both. It looks like the JVC unit will definitely fit under/behind the seat - and the Kenwood might work behind the passenger seat.
