Years ago when I had my VW van my old man took an aluminum vacuum cleaner hose, jammed it onto the end of my muffler, bent it upward and attached it to the back corner of my van. It curved out at the top resembling what you see on semi's, kinda cool back then (we were doing all kinds of sick things to our vans, 'member?). Anyway, the extra length of tubing really added to the sound of that puny 4 cyl., gave it that burbling sound for sure which I did like! (ok, I was a kid, gimme a break).
