Sorry dude, maybe the context at which I spoke was wrong. If you took an automatic turbo GTI and ran it against a 6 spd GTI, both cars being stock and identical, my money is on the auto over the manual version. Only because the transmission is always shifting at the correct points in the power band and its a much smoother continuous and faster shift than the guy running the manual version. but it's just not that exciting with the auto. If I was gonna get a boosted car, it would have to be automatic, much more efficient IMO.
