But really anytime you leave your are going to have to drive through traffic. But if you leave at 6. You might catch a hour or so in traffic. That way you will be there by 9-10 am. Saturday. Anyone have any better ideas on what time to leave for a 16 hour ride. and avoid traffic? and still get there early enough not to waste the saturday? Also anyone know any places on the way we should stop and see?
I went the Orlando Speedway GTG 2 weeks ago and I left 5:30 AM very little traffic and as you go through Northern Virginia most of the traffic is headed north and by the time you get to Richmond rush hour is almost over plus you can take the 295 bypass around Richmond its quicker than staying on 95 S. I made it to Orlando in 14 hours which was pretty good time for the trip. It is a holiday week so traffic is going to be a little heavier than normal so I don't think you'll make it in 16 hours probably more like 17 to 18 hours and that's if you make good time. I thought it was a great drive and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
P.S. I'll be leaving that same friday for Myrtle Beach maybe we'll come across each other during the trip.
