Default Re: Extended warranty...thoughts

Pat's exactly right. I had an extended warranty on a used Cirrus i had, and it was from "fireman's" or some other such company. My brother, who works for a DC dealer, thought he was doing me a favor because it was cheaper than a DC warranty. Well, i needed a tranny and the company gave me all sorts of grief. They would only pay for one days rental, but they took 4 days to send a guy out to the dealer to inspect the blown tranny. He tried to decline the repair, but my brother got the head honcho in the finance office to make a call asking if they wanted the dealership to stop selling their warranties. They then authorized it, but only for a junkyard tranny. Luckily for me the boneyards were selling used trannies for about the same as the dealer cost on a DC remain, so i got one of those. That taught me to stay away from non MFG warranties, so i have a DC max care on my Crossfire. Worth the money IMHO, i almost always end up getting more out of the warranties than what i pay for them.
