Default Re: Extended warranty...thoughts

I have had both 3rd party and DC extended warranties on cars over the years. I would definitely recommend buying directly from DC. Your dealer doesn't have to get "approvals" from 3rd party insurers (or should I say, more likely, "disapprovals") to do the work. I purchased a 5 year, 50K warranty directly from my DC dealer for my '04 XF and it covers 5,004 items, basically bumper to bumper. It cost me less than $2K and I sleep very well at night. If, or should I say when, something goes wrong I just drop it off, pick up my loaner car, and wait for them to tell me its done. I don't care if the repair costs DC $10 or $1,000 - not my problem. Trust me, they hate dealing with the 3rd party companies; it's a lot of time, phone calls, hassle, etc. for them. In the time I will have the car, I know, I KNOW that a couple of things will go wrong and the warranty will pay for itself.
