Default Re: Service costs for B service.

I've had my car serviced at Majestic Meridien in Bournemouth. It was its first service (described as 12,500 miles service) and here's the breakdown:

Service £85.00
1 x Oil Filter ZH £6.00
1 x Windshield Washer (fluid) £2.50
1 x Service Lube £2.50
8 x Mobil One £79.60
1 x Drain Plug Gasket/Washer £0.35
1 x Forte Gas Treatment £9.95
1 x Manual Oil 5W20 Crossfire £8.63

Consumables (Courtesy Car) £12.00
Collision Waiver £12.00

Total £218.53
Tax £38.24
Grand Total £256.77

I queried the price as I was told it would be £197 including materials. It was then pointed out to me that it didn't include the charges for the courtesy car. Eh?! I thought courtesy car meant "courtesy" - I didn't realize that I had to pay for it!!!

Anyway, the chap decided that if I had been quoted £197 then I shouldn't have to pay the full price so the final price I paid was £212.24.

I enquired about the problems I was having with the car (see previous post). The coolant light was a radiator problem which the car had been recalled for - but I hadn't been informed. However it's sorted now, as is the noisy aircon fan. The oil on the engine block was "due to the coolant which was leaking from the faulty radiator." EH?! Of course, I questioned this and the story was changed to "it's been spilt there during refilling." I haven't refilled it. "Well, we've cleaned it off - let us know if any more appears." Hmmm . . . not a great answer - I'd like to know WHY it was there in the first place!

So, overall, I'm still not thrilled with Chrysler's Customer relations (even though I got some refund) so I doubt I'll be having another Chrysler - which is a real shame because the car is awesome - I'm just not prepared to put up with poor service.
