Default Re: Just bought my first-ever $3 gallon.

We have been trillions in debt since the first Bush, nothing new there.

A major factor in the cost of fuel is speculation. I routinely look at Bloomberg.com to check the going cost of a barrel of oil and frequently see blurbs stating "the cost of fuel is predicted to rise due to lower inventory levels" or "gasoline prices are forecasted to rise due to refinery shutdowns" even though the cost of a barrel of oil has gone down.

The highest I paid for premium last year was $3.69. Paid $3.53 last week. But there is hope! Bought gas the other night for $3.47.

It could be worse - as of last week aviation gasoline for piston engine aircraft was $4.55.
