Funny thing about electric cars is you gotta burn something the generate the electricity to charge 'em, right? A while back Car & Driver magazine did a piece about electrics and discovered that they actually generate MORE CO2 per mile than gasoline cars because of the amount of coal/oil/whatever consumed to generate the electricity.

Then there's that pesky problem about what to do with all those highly toxic batteries when they wear out.

Sorry, but gasoline cars are here to stay for a bit longer until fuel cells get cheap enough to put into production vehicles.

I read an article just this morning that gas is most likely going to peak above $4.00/gallon this summer. Hold on tight, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

For those of you (here in the US at least) that want to do something about it, write or call your elected officials and tell them to quit worrying about which baseball players took steroids and find out why gas prices have gone through the roof. There is an election year coming up and if we don't make this an issue it will be quietly swept under the rug.
