i am all about 1/4 mile.....1/8 mile blows

all magazines run the 1/4 for the true measurement of speed.
I hear ya but more and more tracks are going to 1/8th mile for cheaper insurance, ease of sanctioning and less real estate required, at least around here.

Did you burn your tires first? What were your tire's pressure? Do you have the all-season tires?

Road and Track tested the Crossfire to a quarter mile of 14.9 seconds
road and track got the crossfire to hit 60 in 6.4, and run the 1/4 in 14.7, bye using a "4200-rpm drop-clutch launch"
James doing a burnout with low profile radials is not desirable to a good launch most of the time. The tread on the tires slings water into the wheel wells which falls back on the tires and the track. Those tires just don't have any give in the side wall and are not designed for drag racing. My launch prep was easy, I drove around the water box and just stabbed the throttle on some dry pavement to clean the tires off. I have the michelin tires, I assume they are all-season?? I did not mess with tire pressure as I don't think there is much to gain there with the type of tires that are on this car and I also was not being that scientific just having a litle fun with the wifes car.
My first thought/estimation on 1/4 mile time was by using the old rule of thumb of adding 4 seconds to your 1/8 mile time so 10.0 would equate to 14.0. it works well on my 73 Duster which runs 6.80 in the 1/8 and 10.60 in the quarter. I just found the 1/8 to 1/4 calculator and it shows 15.7 for the 1/4  the car is faster then that so splitting the difference at 14.7-14.9 seems reasonable. 8)
