I considered buying a C4 or C5 Vette before I bought the SRT6. I can't really knock the Vettes, but I will say this; My father-in-law has a 1994 Vette and I would rather drive the Crossfire any day.
If you're worried about resale, buy a used Crossfire with low mileage - there are plenty available (ebay, cars.com, etc.).
