The vettes are going to get even faster. The 2008's will get the new LS3 with 430 hp (the 6.0-liter grows to 6.2). That being said, I'll keep my crossfire - I just enjoy it too much, plus I see about half a dozen vettes every day I commute while I spot another crossfire maybe once a month (Austin, TX).
