Beckers have a feature called GAL a speed dependent volume control 0= no volume increase +1 low speed initiation higher number, higher speed before it is initiated xf default is 10 (max is 15) so you will only notice this at highway speeds. It is plug 1 on socket A (bottom most socket).

Thanks for the reply...I wonder if the radio is connected to the same output on the speed sensor that drives the variable speed control for the windshield wipers?
