Strangest problem I have had so far with the automagic in my SRT6 has been that on three separate occasions and under different load/gear conditions, the car has 'clunked' and gone out of gear while still displaying a "D" on the dash display.

It was easily corrected by simply moving to the shoulder, stopping, putting it in park for a second or two and then putting it back in drive.

This is intermittent enough that I refuse to take it to the dealer. If the transmission blows it's under warranty.

I think I will start buying some coffee and doughnuts for my local MB techs for a few weeks and see if I can 'nudge' some secret info on the SLK automatic from them.
