Followup on the broken recirc door actuator. I've spent much of this week carefully disassembling and removing the dash board and A/C case on this Crossfire. It's pretty much reassembled now and everything works. The shop manual and the updates on dealerconnect are totally useless and misleading. The whole job turned into a "invent as you go" to disassemble the dash. Everything is hard to take apart, wire connectors are too tight, and hidden screws are everywhere that the manual doesn't mention. The dash is made up from interconnecting panels and must be removed in sequence. The dash top was really difficult to remove. Wire harnesses were routed through brackets on the dash cross brace, making extra work to remove. The main problem, the recirculation door actuator spring, uses plastic buttons to hold the spring ends and one broke. A metal clip anchored to a mounting screw would be better. Can anyone else say they have removed the entire dash of a Crossfire?
