I love my Crossfire but it would not be my first choice for a daily driver. Here is my list why:
- Cost of replacing the rubber.
- Cost of running premium fuel.
- Cost of windshield replacements due to perpetual rock chips.
- No spare tire. Not a problem for around town or on trips when time isn't of the essence.
- Increase of insurance rates because of speeding tickets.
I travel 75 miles a day round trip and personally I buy cheap commuter cars with low mileage for around $4K and run them until they get around 120K on them and sell them off for $1.5K. My current commuter is a '98 Escort that I bought with 30K for $4K and now has 98K and so far not a single maintenance issue. Soon I will have to replace the windshield it has about 15 repaired rock chips. I get so many anymore I just keep a repair kit from Wal Mart in the glove box.
