Re: changing dashboard (blown airbags) HELP!
Gawd, I feel your pain... I just bought a Suburban at auction that was stolen and the wiring is completely trashed as well as the dash and ignition lock... And I'm going through the process of repair as we speak...
I have removed the entire dash, associated electronics and HVAC system on my Crossfire but not with the intent of replacing them (a race prep gutting project). I can tell you that it is pretty straight forward, but very tedious and very time consuming and requires a pretty extensive tool box... The manual will walk you through the process with nice little drawings... I would guess the entire project (remove / replace) is a good 40 hours by yourself... And you will need a helper on several occasions...
The big thing you're going to have to deal with is the electrical fault lights you have now... These things cannot be traced without very specific dealer test equipment (or you can buy the equipment for about $9K)... (YEAH RIGHT)
If you need any questions answered BOBS was right, this forum should be able to answer most of them until you get into the computer system... Then we're all in the dark, so far...
