The Crossfire is like most sports cars, drag racing is not their strongest feature...

If you want brutal off-the-line acceleration then a Mustang GT is probably your best bang for the buck in a new car for less than 30K. I almost bought one but the Crossfire offered a much more refined, nimble and better handling package for less money. (especially given the current deep discounts !)

It's apples to oranges really. I've owned several muscle and pony cars over the years. Some offered brutal acceleration but not much else. I had a '68 GTX with a healthy 440 (headers, big cam, 4.11 gears); I'd run low 13s on skinny street tires in the quarter but couldn't stop or turn worth a damn or run faster than 100 mph plus for more than dozen miles before getting too hot. A good driver in a pure stock Crossfire can easily make most muscle and pony cars vanish in the rear view mirror on a road course or a twisty country road.

Like I said, apples to oranges. Different cars have different strengths.
My old Jeep rides like a coal truck but when the weather gets ugly it suddenly becomes very beautiful !
