So I've been talking with sales over at LaFrance Autoworks and they say if we can get at least 10 people in for a group buy, they will produce a handle cover for our car and provide a group buy discount.

Sales has read this thread and has the following response to the questions above:
1) Shaving the handles and doing bodywork over where the handle was is the cleanest and best looking option. Then put the sensor on the quarter window, in the mirror housing, or on the front windshield. Any of them would work. But its a cost issue. The cost would be Magic Touch plus bodywork and paint. The less expensive solution would be the door handle replacement. Yes it would have a line around where the handle was that is smaller than the lines around gas cap lids and different body panels, but it would fill the entire indention and make the car look a lot better than the factory handle. I wouldn't call it cheesy.

2) As far as the battery issue is concerned. We well a back up battery for $49 that charges from the car, but is isolated if the car battery dies. The Magic Touch doors will still work. Or/and you can do what the other person suggests and have a jumper post/cable accessible from outside the hood, maybe under the front fender or wheel well. That is what we do for our show cars.

3) Regarding needing the key to start the car. Adding Magic Touch is primarily to give the exterior a much cleaner look. If you want to go completely keyless, we can offer an RFID key fob that will unlock your car when you approach it, and a optional push button start that is enabled by the RFID.
So you guys interested or what? I still am.
