Stupid "check engine" light
This is really starting to bug me. I've had my '04 coupe for a total of six weeks now. In that time, the "check engine" light has come on a total of three times. In each instance I've scheduled maintenance but by the time the appointment rolls around, the light has gone off. The techs can't determine what's wrong. When it comes on, it stays on for a period of about two days before going off. Anyone have any ideas what might cause this? I've had the same type of idiot light on other vehicles and it seems to be related somehow to the exhaust system. I had one car in particular where the light would come on if the gas cap was just a little loose. (believe me, that's the first thing I checked on the Crossfire).
On a related note, I live in the Twin Cities metro area. We're not exactly in the sticks here but I think we have only two certified Crossfire technicians in the entire area and it seems like you literally have to book these guys a week or more in advance to get your car looked at. Do people in other areas have this problem too? I like my car and all but there's definitely a hassle factor when it comes to maintenance.
Thanks for any and all advice!
Steve
