Default Re: Rotex Gold Brakes

OK you got me started. I'm ordering the pads today and have checked with 2 installers. The convenient service guy next door who does my oil changes and inspections while I'm here at work, said under $90 (it'll be $90). No mention of anything else. My regular Chrysler Jeep dealer that treat me great and are usually quite good (although they've never had to do more than change the oil on my XF) said they would install pads I bring in (to my surprise) but naturally would not warranty anything. I said well neither will the service guy next door and he agreed. When I asked price he said, well about $95 to install the pads and about ... to cut the rotors, I said woe, slow down, why do the rotors need to be cut they've only got 5,000 miles. To which he said, oh they've got a glaze and will squeak if not cut. If you don't want to cut the rotors than we'll just install the pads for like $95 but won't be responsible if the brakes squeak (is that spelling right, I'm having a brain fart). So what's the verdict? Do I worry for a minute about warranties, cutting rotors or brake squeaks or do I just buy em and get installed by the local guy?
