Mine does the same thing, although not loud enough to turn heads. It's done it since bought the car new. I now have 45,000 miles on it and it seems no worse. If you don't trust the dealer, find an independent MB mechanic and ask him to take a listen and tell you if its normal or not. I imagine they would do it free of charge.
