Warning: This post may not be what you want to hear, but I am in no way sorry I bought my Crossfire, even
tho I paid full MSRP when they came out in 2003.

Is the Crossfire expensive to maintain? In one word, yes.

Premium 91 octane fuel is required, so you’ll pay more at the pump.

Tires can run between $975 for Goodyear F-1 Eagles up to $1,200 for the OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 2’s that
come on the car.

Oil changes are expensive because the Crossfire uses 8.5 quarts of Mobil 1 0W/40 synthetic oil. The OEM fleece
filter goes for about $21. My dealer charges $130 for an oil change. You can do it yourself for about $75,
depending on the price you pay for the oil and filter. On the flip side, you can go 7k-8k miles between oil changes,
so that spreads the cost out over a longer period of time than if you changed oil every 3k miles.

Most parts have to be ordered, as dealers don’t have much of an inventory for these cars. And, you pay Mercedes-Benz
prices which = $$$.

I haven’t had any repairs done other than warranty work, so I can’t answer your question on that. But, the lack of parts
and having to pay MB prices, it would be fair to say cost of repairs would be higher than your average car.

Dealer service… that my friend, opens a can of worms and it depends on who you talk to. IMO a few owners here have
found good service. I would say, the majority of owners are not so satisfied with the service they get from Chrysler
dealerships. Remember, this is a German built car and most mechanics at the dealerships don’t have much training on them.

I don’t mean to scare you off from buying a Crossfire, but you must really want one and accept that it will be more expensive
to own and operate than your average American or Japanese made vehicles.

The upside, they are one of a kind and you don’t see that many on the road. They are fun to drive and turn heads where ever
you go. Also, you can pick up a new $35,000 Crossfire for almost half of what the sticker says if you do your homework before
going to buy one. The 330 hp SRT-6 version, is a little more expensive, but probably the best bang for the $$$ if you’re interested
in a really fast car...
