I am planning on putting at LEAST 295/30R19 tires in the rear... maybe I can find a shop that actually has those in stock so I can compare them BEFORE I buy.
Unfortunately, Michelin's site specs for the PS2 state that the 295/30R19 tires are only for 10 to 11 inch wide rims... I'm betting they can be squeezed onto a 9.5 inch wide rim, but I'll have to check with the shop to see if that will create problems. EDIT: Tire Rack states that it will simply be harder for the shop to mount a 295/30R19 on the 9.5 Inch wide rim... not impossible and it will not create issues.
NOTE: Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires only go up to 275/35R19... otherwise the profile is even higher. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires only go up to 285/35R19 or 325/30R19 if you want to purchase a wider rim. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS tires aren't even made for 19 inch rims. Michelin PS2 tires have many more size choices available, probably due to the popularity of the tire.
EDIT: Various posts state that 245/35R18 tires will rub the upper A-Frame bolt. So I may have to reconsider the 255/35R18s I was looking at for the front of this beast. Either that or figure a way to 'trim' that bolt or possibly turn it around. I'll be doing the clearance check sometime this week.
The 285/35 PS2's said they require a 9.5 rim, the tire store owner said I shouldn't have a problem with a 9 inch. The Goodyear's that I had previously ran on the back of the 04 coupe in the picture I've posted are the F1 supercar runflats and they were a little too wide for the 9 inch rim. I had bought them off e-bay to run for a while to finish up the tread on the front tires and just wanted to see how they would fit in the wheel well. They really looked good on the car and that's what I was expecting with the new PS2 285's. When I called the tire guy yesterday he told me what I expected to here, the Goodyear's are more square where the side wall turns to tread were the PS2's are more rounded in that area and that not all brands of tires are going to be the same measurements.
You can tell they may be just a hair wider, but it just wasn't what I was expecting and they do fill out the fender well better.
