OK, here is a tough question. There is a car listed with a dealer that handles salvages, and the SRT-6 Convertible is showing 9 miles and appears to have the February 2007 'in service' warranty date of all the recent Chrysler SRT-6 auction sales. It is on AutoTrader at:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=601
as well as their site (along with other SRT-6's with under 50 miles).
So here is the question, the VIN shows no use or registration in any systems (CARFAX, Chrysler Dealer's Online Warranty shows 1 mile in February, no flood in National Insurance Bureau). The price is $28,900 which is the best I've seen for an SRT-6 Convertible with such low miles and a warranty (if in fact it is valid). I called and the dealer said it doesn't have floor mats (a concern since it could indicate water damage), etc. but otherwise is in 'new' condition. It was represented as 'new' and the title supposedly doesn't have any
branding, meaning the title appears clean and has not been issued. Can a title be clean but the car be a problem, particularly flooded, without any records? Any thoughts on this one?
Thanks for any thoughts, opinions or experiences. I like the car but the dealer is not helpful and is pretty evasive which is concerning. It is in Miami so it isn't close at all for a drop-by inspection.
