Regarding the picture below, and thinking out loud...

Anybody know what is involved in replacing the resonator with a regular piece of pipe/tube (obviously exhaust material etc.)?

• I can see that there is a hanger bracket - is the pipe mounted either side of the joints, or would a new hanger be required to support the exhaust.
• I can't see any sensors etc., so hopefully do lights on the dash.
• Probably no power difference.
• Obvious weight reduction.
• Is it purely a resonator, or is there a cat in there?
