Those horsepower figures from the 60's and 1970 were gross power ratings. Since 71' the ratings are net. So a 400 hp net rating today would be close to 440 hp gross back in the 60's. We are truly living in the age of the highest performance cars ever produced. Sorry I'll take the 05 GTO over a 66' GTO any day of the week. And I'm an old Poncho enthusiast. The reasons, Ugly wheels, no options to create my own version, just to tame looking, from a distance it looked like a Cavalier. The interior was top notch. I read where some auto journalist claimed it had the best interior ever found in a GM vehicle. Too bad they didn't make it retro, maybe then it would have sold. I'm glad I ended up with my SRT-6.
