Thanks for all the helpful info! I know a pretty good deal about the Crossfire... have followed them closely and dreamed about owning one since the first time I saw one in person in late '03. I knew of the Mercedes mechanicals and the Karmann assembly, but had never heard of the FSS system. So I take it no one has to replace stupid things like timing chains and such? Other than the pricey oil changes, they're fairly maintenance free? Does the dealer have to reset something in the car when the oil is changed, or if you do it yourself, does the car know it?

From what I have gathered, Crossfires seem to be extremely mechanically reliable, low maintenance, and good for several hundred thousand miles like any other German product. I just am wanting to make sure I'm an educated buyer this time around. :-) I know tires cost around $1k installed, so I'm prepared for that sticker shock!
