Default Sidez Mod : Carbon Fiber SLK32 Engine Cover

This is a little modification that I have had done as Engine Area Aesthetic Design... for my SRT-6...

WHAT: Carbon Fiber SLK32/C32 Engine Cover, Carbon Fiber Air Intake Covers, AMG Engine Plaque.

Price: About $450

Compatibility: SRT-6, SLK32, C32

Where to purchase: Contact Forum Member SRT SIX.

WHY: I was never really fond of the disguising the AMG parts inside my car and covering them up with... SRT Covers it is as if SRT or Mopar had anything to do with the manufacturing of the parts of this car... I like to give credit where it is due and the credit for performance and functionality of this car is in my opinion not to be credited to Chrysler, Mopar, or SRT.

HOW: At first I purchased an AMG engine plaque for about $20 from SRT SIX for the engine area, which our vehicle should of came with in the beginning... but after installing the plaque it was still hard to see, because it was covered by a large Engine Cover which for some reason was made to hide that area... Then I decided to further display the roots of the vehicle I purchased an engine cover from C32/SLK32 part number 1120100567 from oempartsdirect.com... for about $71 + Shipping...

After receiving and installing the product I realized that it did not color match with the air filter covers as it was slightly darker... but I was planning on painting it black anyways, but as this moment SRT SIX once again came through and found a company that was willing to do custom carbon fiber inlays and had it done on his car in many places... after seeing some pictures I was instantly attracted to the idea of having this done to my new engine cover... So after a quick chat with SRT SIX, I sent in the engine cover and air intake covers... he sent it back in about 2 weeks... the total cost of this process came out to be about $350...

Result: I am very happy with the quality of the work and it has been a big improvement to my engine area, but I do not like that on the engine plaque it says Osnabruck, Germany when AMG is actually Affalterbach, Germany and Osnabruck has nothing to do with the engine, Also my product came with a minor scratches, these are just minor nitpickings to an overall very good result...

THE FINAL SCORE 9/10
