Default Re: 2008 Crossfire

Karmann is supposed to re-start Crossfire production ?

What are they going to use for motors ?

I'm not aware of any M-B products still using the 3.2 SOHC V6.

I just posted this at the MBworld forum to get some input...

"I had thought Karmann was finished with the Crossfire's production run.
But now there are a number of reports of a run of '08 models starting at Karmann in the next month or two.

Here's my question; are there any current Mercedes models still using the 3.2 SOHC V6 ? If not, and all current M-B products use the 3.5 DOHC V6 motor, where are the engines for this run of Crossfire production going to come from ? Could they be planning to upgrade to the 3.5 motor? Or is there enough surplus 3.2 powerplants sitting around somewhere to allow another few thousand Crossfires to be produced."

Now, in our dreams, the new 250+ Hp 3.5 DOHC V6 would be powering the 2008 Crossfires. That would certainly help make the car competitive in
the marketplace at the 30K+ price point.

I'll believe it when I see it!
