I noticed some time ago that if I looked real REAL close at my windshield, at the right angle, in really bright sunlight, a couple of tiny TINY pits. I took the XF over to my local Safelite Auto Glass and the tech, who's repaired/replaced windshields on my other cars, took a look and said it wasn't worth fixing and not to worry about it. The pits are so small that they can't even use the fill-in repair technology they would use for a small crack or larger pit. He said if I ever got a real pit/crack that the insurance would repair it for free or replace it (with and OEM windshield) if I was willing to pay my deductible ($250). If you asked me today, I would be hard pressed to even remember where the pits are.
