Default Re: ecu vs. nitrous?

heya welcome to the ex SRT-4 owner club. it may be disappointing in the straight but doesn't it make up for it in the corners ? it does for me ... (had a '03, stg 2, 3 in thermal r&d, yadda yadda yadda) ...

but anyhow, the only nitrous kit on a XF i have seen is a member that is not very technical so not sure if its for show or go ... as far as most put down ? sorry to disappoint but again none of the members are HP obsessed like the skittle crowd was so hardly a dyno sheet for bragging right to go with around here...

but i have pondered the same as you ... nitrous kit would require that you do a little research and see how the TPS wire reports its values as the traction and ASM program kicks in ... if when they detect spin/slide the TPS sensor correctly shows the throttle closing then you can use a TPS activated nitrous kit such as the one ZEX and a few other companies are making now ... otherwise you may have to find another safe way to activate it as the results would be pretty bad if the kit kept spraying as the ASM program shut down your throttle. or perhaps a better way would be to create a relay arrangement that would disconnect the YAW sensor, deactivated the traction control, and armed the nitrous switch all together... however HDDP has reported seeing issues with being able rev past a certain point with the YAW disconnected if i remember right but then another member had success doing so in his car. so there is plenty of research to be done to use nitrous to its full potential safely on this car and engine but the results should be spectacular.
