you will run into a issue doing a strictly button activated system ... mainly cause when you hit the traction control off button the active stability program is still on, any squirm in either direction will set it off and your throttle will shut down hard but your finger will keep spraying until you notice ...
thanks for replying Apkano ... that gives an idea ... 40 amp fuses, hmm, buy two 40 amp relays with heavy duty pigtails/sockets and wire the relays in to cut the power to the fuses at the flip of a switch ... this way you can tie it into the nitrous arm button so when you arm you fully shut down the traction and stability program ...
i would still urge to do a little research by trial ... pull the fuses, do some donuts in a parking lot to see if the now famous yaw sensor is still active somehow ... i am assuming no since the main ESP feed is dead which i also assume the yaw sensor communicates to. HDDPs posts as well as Woodys posts will reveal more info on that as they are the leading authorities on that.
the other potentially dangerous (to the electrical system) experiment is to see if shutting down the main ESP power feeds while the car is running can be done without anything being damaged ... this is assuming you want to be able to arm the nitrous system while the car is running... if not i can design a small circuit utilizing latch relays and a momentary push button switch to make sure the nitrous system can only be armed or disarmed with the car being turned off...
btw, my design for this (i have a venom nitrous kit from a previous car i may scavenge parts off of to build a kit) utilizes a TPS monitoring nitrous activation switch that would make sure the throttle is really open before spraying, and window switch that would make sure it only sprays from 3k to redline to prevent damage from bending rods at low rpms or running lean as it hits the rev limit, and a push button switch to make sure it only sprays when my finger is on it ... so basically all the conditions have to be met and i can tap on the button when it lights up ... it makes for a very very safe system that prevents user error in the heat of combat ...
