I was on at the airport yesterday waiting for a flight in the Continental President's Club. I had my Crossfire luggage and this guy came by to ask me if I owned a Crossfire--I was a bit surprised and said I did. He said he noticed the luggage--ah ha. So, he was telling me how he bought a Crossfire about 6 weeks ago and sold it becuase it was not practical for him. He said he traded it in and for an Infiniti and the dealer only gave him $28K for it (he had less than 600 miles on it). That is about a 22% depreciation in a matter of a few weeks--OUCH! We talked more and he said that some dealers were only offering him $26K, and that he talked this one up to $28K. While I know that you lose on any car you drive off the lot, that is incredible to me. Granted he could have probably sold it on his own for 30-31 (maybe), but that had to have hurt. Lesson--MAKE sure you want this car for the long haul BEFORE you buy. He was a doctor out of Houston, and turned out I knew his daughter (no not inthat way, just went to school with her a LONG time ago)--small world.
