The Odometer manufacture has bench tested the unit putting X miles on it.

Odometer is reset to zero miles prior to installation but the trip meter does not reset.

I doubt any hanky panky; I saw several brand new XF's like that 2 years ago when I was looking at new Crossfire’s.

If you are in doubt, measure the tires, they won't lie. If there is any significant mileage on the car, the tires and brakes will show wear and tear (plus other signs) otherwise, what’s the use of setting the odometer back 2 miles (or thousands) putting on new tires and brakes (well over $1K) and not show wear on the rims, seats, interior, seat belts etc...

I doubt foul play or else the other signs will be real obvious... You could set back 200K to 100K and get maybe away with it.
