Yeah that's what I figured.

The dealer was trying to get me an aftermarket stereo because they sold me the car with warrantee but the factory warrantee has expired - he wanted to save himself some money. I took a ride to the stereo shop he uses to make sure what was going to be substituted was at least as good and compatible. By the time I got to the stereo store the guy working with the dealer had concluded there was no plug in replacement for the factory amp and told the dealer to order the factory amp.

Not sure if that's good or bad for me but I didn't want someone to start hacking into the harness - I only have 7,000 miles on the car!
