Default Re: New Key covered under warranty?

I got a replacement key under warranty (original owner) and it worked-for two weeks.

I had left my car in the fourth floor of the hotel's open parking garage to attend the Cleveland Indian's opening day game. The game was cancelled due to blizzards of snow so we retired to the hotel for some refreshment. About 9:30 I went to the car and tried to open it with the button on the new key. No luck. So there I am 50 feet in the air in a blizzard in downtown Cleveland at 9:30 on a Friday night and I can't open the door.

After thoughts of trying to find a cab and taking it 35 miles to home and then waiting until Monday morning to call the dealer (10 miles in the other direction) and let them know where to pick up the car I noticed that there is a slot in the door handle pushbutton that the metal key fits into. Problem solved after a moment of panic.

Having the replacement electronic key go dead after two weeks was typical of my experiences with Chrysler's service.
